Sure you have the MIDI cables correctly connected? You must have Out on the
MOTU connected to In on the Motif, but accidentally connecting Through on
the Motif back to In on the MOTU, instead of connecting Out on the Motif to
In on the MOTU, would create problems like you're describing here.

list. I have a new DAW purchased from DD That is running Sonar 8.5 under
windows 7 64 bit, a MoTU Fastlane midi interface and a Motif ES synth. I am
getting some sporadic playback of midi files, however if I assign the
outputs to the TTS1, it plays fine. I have downloaded the drivers for the
MOTU interface (that is suppose to support 64 bit) on my new DAW and have
double checked all connections, but still get inconsistent play back when
using the Motif's synth and the MOTU interface. There are several notes that
continue to play after I have pressed the space bar to stop playback. There
are portions where a track will pause and then pick up later and otherwise
random notes that play out of no where that are not on the events list. I
can play the same files on a 15 year old computer using windows XP with
Sonar 7.0 Producer using the same outboard gear with no problems. I thought
that there may be a setting somewhere that may fix things, so I have gone
between my old rig and the new one to make the same selections in the global
and project option. From what I remember, there was not much to change in
either of these dialogs. Any suggestions would help.
