OK Omar, let's do this. The following recommendation also applies to your
other MIDI file problem...

You may want to recreate your MIDI file before loading them into the Motif
ES. By that I mean the following--

1. Start a brand new sonar file with only 16 tracks (1 - 16) and chn 1 - 16
assigned to them respectively.
2. Use the event filter to only copy NOTES from each of your old midi tracks
onto their corresponding tracks in the brand new sonar file you just
created. It's important to filter out just the notes for copying and
pasting.
3. Do your bank and patch assignment and any other settings you wish for
each track in your new sonar file manually.
4. Be sure to combine all the note events from your old drum tracks onto
track 10 (chn 10) in your new sonar file.
5. In the end their should only be no more than 16 tracks in your new sonar
file with all drums on trk 10 chn 10.
6. Save your new file as both sonar and midi 1.
7. Open them and make sure that each format is playing back just the way you
like it.
8. Now you can load the midi 1 format file into the Motif es.
Try that and let us know. If things still don't work, I'll be interested in
seeing the midi file myself.

Good luck,

Nicaise D

I pasted them through Sonar.

Omar Binno

"Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as
succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your
mind will seek to develop the picture...Do not build up obstacles in your
imagination. - Norman Vincent Peale
