If yours is one of the older MD units, you have to run a regular
stereo cable from the output of your soundcard into the line in
jack on the MD, and just record in real time. That is, press play
on the computer and record on the minidisc.
The older MD format does not allow for the direct playing of mp3
files, that is, mp3 files stored on the minidisc itself. So you'll
have to record them manually.
However, if yours is one of the newer HI-MD units, it can play mp3
files directly and has a USB port for transfering them at high
speeds between computer and MD.
hope that helps a little.

Hello,
Can someone send me off list instructions on how to record .mp3 files from a hard drive to a minidisk?
Thank you.
