Maby I'll probaly just get a external and use that for my apps or something or sonar backups. and my net book or something untill i can get another computer for my every day normal use, like for team talk, or something?

You can do this by partitioning your hard drive. Partitioning the hard drive is
a process that separates it in to sections. For example, instead of a single
500GB hard drive that shows up as your C drive in Windows, you'd have 2 250GB
drives that show up as C and D. These aren't two actually separate drives, but
Windows treats them as two separate drives.

Once your drive was partition, you could install an operating system on each
one of the partitions. For example, you could install Windows 7 on both
partitions, using the version on the first partition for your every day
computing tasks, and the version on the second partition strictly for audio.
Each copy of Windows would be entirely separate, including the programs that
were installed, the drivers that were installed, the settings, etc.

When you turn on your computer or reboot, a menu appears where you select which
version of Windows to start.

It is better, and easier to setup, if you were to use separate hard drives for
each operating system, and just insert the drive with the OS that you'd like to
use. That isn't particularly easy on a laptop, though. Desktop people usually
do the multiple hard drive approach, while laptop people partition and install
mutliple OSes on multiple partitions.

Having said all of that, this isn't a setup that I'd suggest that a novice
perform. There are many complicated steps. You should be able to find a local
computer geek, though, that can help you with something like this.

And How would someone do this sort of thing?
This is the only laptop I have. so, that's not a bad Idea brian!

Also, having a dedicated partition (or computer) for Sonar is the rule for
anyone that desires anything like professional results. All of this software,
not just Jaws and the scripts, are extremely picky pieces of software that must
have everything set just so, only work well with specific combinations of
software versions, etc. Anyone attempting to multipurpose an audio computer
with office functions etc is setting themselves up for a life more full of
troubleshooting conflicts than making music.

Not seeing that here at all. HSC is working as advertised. Think there's
something goofy going on on your system as you are the only one who's reported
that particular issue. Time for a reinstall I think.

Correct, Steve. Also, with Sonar 8.5, it seems that you can't use a lot of the
hsc shortcut keys. You have to activate a particular command by getting to it
from the menus.

        Cameron,

Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious with HSC, have you used it
before, as
I always go to synth rack (Alt 8) arrow down to the particular synth I
want, press P and then start using hot spot clicker.
