It's possible, but it seems like it is a glorified control surface and audio interface for sonar. The only mention of displays refer to a seven segment led for now time and a 2 line 13 character display for markers and whatnot, but it runs off good old sonar. If I had $4000, I'd wait until cT for sonar 8 came out and take a chance as this seems like it would work well, but then again, I don't, so I'm waiting anyway. <grin> -- Damon Fibraio screen names -- aol: dfibraio...msn dfibraio@xxxxxxxxxxxx skype: dfibraio personal music site: http://www.keyboardguy.com. Phil replied: I wouldn't count on it. Neither Tim Burgess or others interested in accessibility have taken a look at it yet and so are not in a position to comment. My advice, don't spend any money until some of us have had a chance to try it out. For all we know, this thing could have wraparound menus, lots of multipurpose menus etc. Regards, Phil Muir P J Muir Productions, Music And Audio Production Telephone: US (615) 713-2021 UK+44-1747-821-794 Mobile: UK +44-7968-136-246 E-mail: info@xxxxxxxxxxxx URL: www.philmuir.com/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Damon Fibraio <mailto:dfibraio@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: midimag@xxxxxxxxxxx Cc: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 3:23 PM Subject: [ddots-l] full info on the Cakewalk Vstudio 700 from harmony central The below link takes you to the press release for the cakewalk/roland v-studio 700, the control surface, audio interface and software that cakewalk is touting s the next big solution for musicians. I read up on this thing and I am floored. And since it works around sonar 8 producer, bundles rapture with sonar 8's dimension pro and even includes a Roland fantom equivalent synth onboard, would guess that this will be quite accessible. The price tag, at $4000 hurts, but I wonder if this would convince me to upgrade from my fw1884 since the hardware and software are integrated. Anyway, here's the info as per the press release. http://aes.harmony-central.com/125AES/Content/Cakewalk/PR/Cakewalk-SONAR-V-S tudio-700.html -- Damon Fibraio screen names -- aol: dfibraio...msn dfibraio@xxxxxxxxxxxx skype: dfibraio personal music site: http://www.keyboardguy.com.
