You should go to your favorite music web store and do a search. There are many
options out there. One of the most popular brands is Furmann. I am not sure if
I have that spelled correctly, but you will find it. They have rack mount power
conditioners as well as single point things that are used at the point between
your wall socket and what ever else you are plugging into it. Prices swing
greatly depending on what you want to plug in and if you are looking for simply
a surge protector or something that will level out the amount of electricity
feeding your equipment. . I use several 8 socket units that are rack mounted
for just about all my gear, but they are not the Furman brand. I got them for
about $20 each from a friend, try ebay as well, you might find a bargain.
Best,
Grant

Hi Kevin, Back in the early days of Cake Talking, there was a sound that was
made when the tracks loaded up. No More. The message you get is when all the
tracks are in order. Sometimes that message will repeat if you are making other
changes within the project.
Best:
James

I think you misunderstand the phrase please wait until you hear That the screen
has settled down. What that means is, wait until you hear silence for a
protracted period of time. Then, you will know that everything is ready to go.

You'll need to open a .cwp file first.
Then press f6 once.
It should say 'Please wait'.
Followed by 're-configuring and refreshed ...'
I usually then press control + double f2 to display the peak meter without
all the other meters.

Hello,
When the Sonar starts, CakeTalking says: "Welcome to Sonar
8.5.3.282, with the CakeTalking 8.8 scripts. Remember, After you are
done loading your project? always press F6.
Now? Please wait until you hear that the screen has settled down.
JAWS Control Surface Ready"
But it didn't do anything to settle down the screen, I'm pressing F6
always to start to use.
How can I fix it? Is it normal?
Thank you.

Hi, it's Annabelle.
This may seem like a strange request, but I want to find out, how would
I record audio files of computer voices? Specifically, I want to type
some text, then record a computer voice reciting this text.
How would I do this?

Bettef than wasting time reading books that will mainly focus on what you
already stated you can't change, the building's electrical, you would be
better off consulting with someone who is experienced in studio set up, and
can help you work on your particular setup. V

Subject: [ddots-l] Power distribution on a budget
Hello all,
Can any of you recommend good publications I can read on the subject of
power distribution in the recording studio?
I'm not formally trained as an engineer and often find myself perplexed and
frustrated in my efforts to eliminate stray fields that cause the dreaded
60Hz hum. Unfortunately though, I am not in the position to change the
building architecture, including redesigning the house electrical system.
So, I'm hoping there is an affordable way to isolate the room I have set up
as a studio.
Warm regards,
Fran Franks
