Hey there all!
As many of you may recall, over two months ago, I tried a massive Windows 7
update which failed greatly. I appreciate the feedbac k I received from
some of you and those who said, "corrupt hard drive," were not too far off.
Thanks to a friend of mine, he was able to copy all data from both drives.
It required a full wipe of my OS drive and reinstalling Windows. As of
almost two weeks ago, Sonar and all soft synth and effect components are up
and running once again. My friend and I did not understand ADK's
partitioning of the OS drive. We had to wipe all of them and we reinstalled
with one main partition.
It has taken quite some time and, unlike you professionals on this list, may
DAW being out of commission did not affect me more than emotionally as it
killed the creativity I was feeling around that time.
Now, another note for the professionals who will probably get a chuckle out
of this. All projects I have created in Sonar thus far had either effects
on specific channels or on a bus. I knew from years ago in our analog
studio in school that sends would make things more efvficient and sound
stronger. I took the time to dig through Cake Talking's excellent tutorial
and through the Sonar help. I have now created sends resulting in a lot
more control. Small stuff for some, but a major breakthrough for this DAW
novis.
