The workaround suggested here didn't work for me. It was suggested to close help with the menu command rather than alt+f4, but this didn't help at all; sonar still crashed when help was closed.
What finally worked for me is to go back to Jaws10 on that machine. Now I get another (much less severe) help-related issue: Jaws doesn't seem to move from pane to pane with f6 while in Sonar help. If I launch the help file from windows explorer, it works fine.
Is there a good reason to run with a more recent version of Jaws? Things seem to be working ok, but I'm wondering if any significant jSonar features require a Jaws version greater than 10.

Ahh, thanx all for responding, and thanx Steve for confirming. Kinda thought I was nut or something; seems like something people might have noticed and talked about. And of course, thanx for the work around, which I'll try later this evening! -- Rich----- Original Message ----- From: "Steven Jeffrey" <shjeffrey@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, April 04, 2011 11:27 AMSubject: [ddots-l] Re: Jaws and Sonar 8.5 - sonar crashes when sonar help is closedYou wrote:" What happens if, instead of opening the Help from within Sonar, you leaveSonar running then open the Help from it's shortcut in the Start menu?"Yes, that works as well. Also, I've found if you do open Sonar's help within Sonar, and in stead of using ALT F4 to close it, if you use ALT Space and then choose "Close," it doesn't crash JAWS.Never had this problem in earlier versions of Sonar, but at least there are a few work-arounds for it.PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
