Thanks! I will check out both on Ebay and Craig’s etc. I already have a great
3-port Firewire, and an even greater 2port with one being one of the more odd
Firewire variations on the connector (which was required by the rack mount
PreSonus interace I added to get 8 more iinputs added to the 16 input PreSonus
mixer I already had. Both worked great together, but still there were pretty
much only 1 output for each interface.
/I take it you play guitar if you liked some preamp modeling it provided? I do
play acoustic and have always yearned to playgood lead guitar (where modeling
would be my favorite pastime…) but it’s like some of those few things I simply
can NOT do… Sorry, I will only name those things on request. Suffice to say, I
have to struggle every time I have to feebly try and play a lead. I do manage
to play with some great guitarists from time to time though… and I have been to
some of the greatest concerts of all time that featured what I think are some
of the all time great guitarists… all of which just make me wish more and more
that I had even the slightest ability toward that talent… but ☹ I do not.
I’m a good song-writer singer if that matters… 😊

John. If you can find a firewire card then you can run the saffire Pro 14
through 40 or Liquid 56. Love my Liquid 56 as it has some pre-amp emulations
which sound fantastic and are fully accessible. If not then it will run on
thunderbolt on Windows 10. As for CT, I wouldn’t personally stay with Windows
7 and CT. That’s because in my view Windows 10 runs DAW software a lot better
than Windows 7 and you should be able to get latency even lower on Windows 10
although this is obviously going to be dependent on which system you are
running your DAW on. Note: you can still obtain a free update to Windows 10 if
your system supports that. There is information on how to do that in a file
which is in the Samplitude drop box. Also, Steve Spamer and other Samplitude
users have produced a lot of great videos showing how to use Samplitude with
Jaws and the documentation that ships with the scripts is also pretty good.

Furthermore, Sonar 8.5.3 doesn’t support VST3 which is becoming a lot more
popular with software vendors who write softsynths and audio affects. Finally,
Sonar’s audio affects and softsynths are ok but again in my view, Samplitud’es
plug-ins sound 100 times better.
