Hey thanks for the link! Do let me know what you hear from anyone else. I'm not
really a guitarist (as you are), but I want something that has various effects
that I can adjust and tweak, with a good sound. Just so I can run some vst
guitars through it if need be, or have someone who does play come and lay some
tracks down with good effects and no software fuss. Of course, I would love to
see how my ukulele sounds when fed through some of those effects ;)
I know some guys who have masstive pedal boards with all sorts of stuff, but
that might be overkill for me, since like I said I'm not a real guitar player
(though I hope to pickup the instrument again when time permits), so I just
want something for in the studio that I don't have to amp up or record from a
cab.
Unless you think that either would work out just as well, but then the question
would be, which is more price effective lol.
Thanks, DJX

Subject: [ddots-l] Line 6 M9/M13? Anybody still use one?
Hi DJX.
I'm going to CC this to a couple other lists in case someone still has one. I
remember talking to one other blind person with an M13 years ago, and he was
able to use it just fine.
Keep in mind I don't have an M13 myself, but yep, as far as I know, it operates
quite a lot like a traditional pedalboard. No menus as such.
However, this device is quite a few years old now, and at the time, Line 6 cut
some corners resulting in a not so clean signal path, converters etc. Most
people I see running the M5
M9 or M13 in their rig are buying modified, improved ones, from this guy:
http://www.jhv3.com/m-series-mods/
That probably gets signal quality up to what could be called studio or pro
level, not to mention adding some extra functionality, should you want that.
Personally, I'm trying to decide whether to go the route of sourcing individual
pedals, the best of each type, then a nice power supply, switcher, board, etc.
and put it all together, or to just grab an M13 and not worry about any of that
other stuff. LOL

Chris, I read about the m13, wow! Sounds like anice little unit. It
sounds like it doesn't have LCD screens and such to navigate through,
but not sure; can you confirm or deny this?
Thanks, DJX

hmm maybe the Line 6 M13 stomp box modeller?
They've been out several years so there should be many on the used
market. I don't own one, but I believe it acts a lot like a traditional
pedal board.

Chris, anything I could use to feed a signal out of my interface,
through a box or set of pedals, and then back in to the interface
with effects?
In other words, without the amp requirement. ;)

I have no idea what to recommend regarding hardware.
I got tired of wanting access to the latest and greatest, but finding
things to be unworkable. The best way for us, and I can't see this
changing for a long time, is still a regular amp and some pedals, and
of course a MIC to capture things.
There are load boxes you can put in line with said amp, to tame the volume.

So the best way to get good guitar tones would be hardware?
If so any good affordable recommendations?
I tried Line 6 PodFarm, no go either.
I've got a couple nice guitar samples, but they could use feeding
through some distortions and the occasional chorus or wah pedal and
such lol.

I wish we could access Bias Desktop, or iOS for that matter. You
can pick all the components of your amp, and the rest of the signal
chain as well.
As far as I know, no parameters are exposed in the VST, and I
couldn't figure out how to do anything wiht the iOS version.

Not accessible, only thing to do is access presets, and maybe
make some changes in the inspector.
I'm still looking for a good software solution that will let us
make our own tones and such, no louck thus far.

Hello list,
I have been reading about guitar rig 5, is the program accessible
for us? If so, What problems I might have with it? Thank you.
