Hi Tim, yep sorry it seems as if things are a bit different, which is a real
shame. It seems as if things can change quite a bit between builds of
Kontakt. If I get anymore ideas I'll let ya know, in the meantime best of
luck, cheers Steve.

Hi Steve,

It is a "browse for folder" dialog, and I don't know how I would select an
entire library this way.
I tried your "CTRL, ALT, and R" keys and didn't get any result at all.
I'll go ahead and put the numeric coordinates and see what result I get.
I am wondering if what you said might be the case as far as the interface
being slightly different.
I'm wondering if anyone else on this list is getting the same result as me.
I'll keep you posted, and again thank you for the help.
I did put in the screen coordinates and received the same result. The first
two did nothing. The next two gave me the "browse for library".

Tim

Hi Tim, OK another throw of the dice to see if we can get you up and
running. The dialog you're getting I think is the "browse for folder"
dialog. I'm not exactly sure what this is asking for, unless you can load a
folder of multis at once or something. Anyway, I can get this dialog (if it
is the same one), by doing the following:
1. I press control+alt+R to reset loaded patches, I get the message:
"erase multi, I.E, disguard all instruments? OK, Cancel."
2. I press "OK" and I'm guessing the function is done.
3. Pressing control+alt+r again brings up the following dialog:
"warning! using this tool will effect and alter multiple patches at once.
only do this if you know what you're doing, all instruments will be
disguarded, really proceed? no, yes."
4. I press "yes" and then I get a browse for folder dialog. Browsing to a
folder doesn't seem to do anything, but it's possible it's loading
something.

The dialog I get when pressing control+alt+L is totally different and this
is called "open". It enables me to browse to a specific patch and this is
the dialog you want. Try doing the above and then trying the load
keystroke...and see what happens.

Otherwise, you can get to the specific co ordinates by doing the below:
1. When in the Kontakt window, press control+alt+shift+F9 and type: 318 78
(notice space between numbers).
2. Hit enter and then perform a left mouse click.
3. Press control+alt+shift+F9 again and type: 344 141 and hit enter.
4. Perform a left mouse click and see what happens, hopefully the open
dialog will open and allow you to browse to a patch. If not and you get the
browse for folder dialog, I'm stuck and I would suggest you try to get
someone to look at that menu to see of "load" is present. It maybe that
this is a slightly different build, therefore slightly different. For what
it's worth, no other option in the menu on my PC opens a browse for folder
dialog...only dialogs that open are, load and save functions. HTH, good
luck, cheers Steve.

Steve,
It is Kontakt 5. This is the full library.
Hey man, have a good rest, and I'll hear from you tomorrow.

Ok Tim, thanks for the info. Please tell me what version of Kontakt you're
runnigng? I can't check right now, as I'm off to bed, but tomorrow I'll
check something out. I've got an idea that it could be clicking another
option in the list where load is. Apparently Kontakt versions differ from
version to version, just wondering if this is the case, but I'll try it out
tomorrow and let you know, cheers Steve.

Hi Steve,

I don't have a "files of type" when I try and load libraries. When I press
CTRL, ALT and L, I only have five options.
Ok, Cancel, a list of folders, an edit box where the file name should go,
and a make new folder.
I'll answer the questions below:

1. When browsing to the instrument folders, do you see the instruments
listed within the dialog? (e.g, funk kit.nki) No, I don't get that far. I
only get to the list where the instruments types are. (like horns, piano
etc)

2. When do you get the message "Library not found", , at what point?
When I try and get deeper in where the instruments files are.

3. Are your instruments/libraries in the same folder as your samples?
No, they are both at the same level.

One thing to check, is in the "files of type" edit field of the load
dialog...make sure you have "all files" or move down to .nki files. If you
have .nkb or nkm selected, it's probable they won't show. Cheers Steve.

Thanks for your help, Steve!

Thanks for a quick response Steve.

I'm using Kontakt 5 as a VST plugin within Sonar.
When I press load, I get the browse button, and I can browse my files and
folders. I can find the libraries and instruments in my
users\public\documents folder. I am able to see the categories, but the
.nki files won't show up for some reason.
I know that they are there, because I can find them under Windows Explorer
in the same location.
I get the message "Library not found", and then an Ok button to click on.
Thanks again for all of your help, not only for making the spots, but also
answering on the list. We all know that when one person is helped, that
many benefit.

Tim

Hi Tim, it was tested with Kontakt 5 and Kontakt 5 Player. You say you can
get the load dialog, which means the spots are doing what they need to do.
What happens when you browse to your instruments library? Do you see
instruments to load? Have you a midi channel set up for a loaded patch?
This should load all .nki files. Let us know what the situation is, cheers
Steve.

Hi again folks,
Is there anyone on this list who is able to use Steve's HTC's, with Kontakt
5?
I'm wondering if there is an interface difference between the full version
of Kontakt 5, and the demo version?
Thanks in advance.
Tim
