Yes, you can use the Jaws cursor and load things into channels, adjust settings, etc. Someone with more time and knowledge could easily come up with some scripts.
As for sound quality, well, imagine you have fully sampled instruments, gigabytes worth. For realism I think it can't be beat. However, aquiring said instruments can get expensive.
