Still though, it's probably a good time to write Line 6 with our concerns. They appear to be finally doing some new things.

Once a trail-blazing company with the original Pod, Axsys amp etc. They really did shake up the guitar industry in the late 90's. But, for years after, they recycled their earlier technology and algorithms in product after product. They reminded me of Taco Bell, in that really, how many combos of the same basic ingredients can you come up with, name, and market? *grin* The modeling in the POD X3, for example, is no better than what was in the Veta amp some years ago. And, more shockingly, their Floorpod unit contains algorithms from the Pod 2.0 - that's from the days before the Pod XT.

They even dropped all support for their Veta amps, what were once the flagship Line 6 product. With a conventional amp or guitar that is not software-driven, this wouldn't be a problem. But with new modeling products coming out yearly or sooner, imagine investing several thousand in a Veta, a Variax guitar, floorboard etc. only to find out that nothing new was being developed for that platform.

However, they seem to be turning a corner, listening to the customer base, and coming up with some new things. Examples are:
1. The Spider Valve MK2 amps and new floorboard,
2. The M13 effects unit,
3. new wireless units
4. The new Variax guitar designed by James Tyler
5. More importantly, the POD HD, which looks like it will have entirely new algorithms, a total redesign.
