PCI cards are slots on the mother board, which have nothing to do with
RAM
or hard drives, unless you have PCI IDE cards, they are the slots where
your
modem, ethernet card, external sound cards, video cards etc go. This is
the
recommended method, as USB interfaces sometimes produce electro magnetic
noises from the pc itself; it happened to me when pairing up my motif es
and
US122, so I had to get rid of it and get a delta1010.

If that's the case, I'm afraid my PC's full with extra memory and hard

If your price range is under 200, check out 1 of the m-audio ones,
specially
the delta 1010 lt. If you wanna use USB, there are options such as the
tascam us122, us428, and macki has a few for the same price range; check
out
musiciansfriend, they have a good search utility with all sorts of
filters...but I would recommend a PCI card, I had problems with my USB
interface after a wile...

Hi folks
OK, it's now time for me to move to a dedicated sound card for my
recordings
as my internal one just isn't cutting the mustard and makes a heck of a
lot
of noise.
So, I need something that will take a mic through XLR jacks, my Tyros
through regular quarter inch jacks and eventually I'll need to plug bass
and
guitars in too.
I want to avoid using a mixer as space is at a premium right now, so a
sound
card that will let me plug it all in would be the most appropriate.
Any recommendations and recommended dealers would be most welcome.
