Try reinstalling CakeTalking as it probably will clear it up. I had to do it
on my machine when I upgraded JAWS as it's version-specific. I can't think
of anything else that could be amiss. Also, check to make sure that the JAWS
control surface is there too. I assume that your windows settings are
correct as it would tell you otherwise if they aren't.

I'm running 8.3.1. Caketalking wasn't uninstalled, just JAWS.
