Go to the sounds and audio devices and make sure his sound card is set to
default sound card that he wants and check the use default devices check
box. Hope this helps.

Subject: [ddots-l] Audio interface problem question
Hi,
The guy I'm helping out with Caketalking has the M-Audio USB device for MIDI input and a small pre-amp plugged into that for audio recording.
I did a test recording with the system today after installing a firewire drive and captured the audio ok. When I restarted, however, jaws wasn't making any sound. I went into XP's control panel and saw that the audio playback got switched to the m audio device although I hadn't made that change.
What is the necessary set up so that JAWS uses the computer's soundcard and speakers to talk and the m audio can output the music content?
