George,

Very many thanks. I just bought a Sony CD burner as a replacement in my PC,
so not sure if I can swing for a new Phillips. Also I had no idea that the
labels were so daring a task.

I've got "Nero 6.3 or greater" on my Santa list so maybe I'll get the
update.

thanks again.

Dave

The full version of Nero has a CD labelling program which is
pretty good, but ideally you would need some sighted help to
set up a template.

The other problem is that the output is printed on to self
adhesive labels, which then have to be applied to the CD.
This is doable, but takes practice. Screw that process up,
and your friends could end up with toasters in place of CD
drives.

If however you are buying a CD/DVD burner, it's well worth
looking at the Philips "LightScribe" models. You do need to
use special CDs, but the image gets etched onto the actual
CD itself, and actually, although monotone, visually looks
really good.

Software

Hello,

Anyone found a program that we can use to generate
reasonable-looking CD covers and disc labels? All my peers
are tired of getting CDs from me that are not labeled and
then losing them.

musicians

Hi All,

I have been working with computer guru and musician Robert
Moerland to up
date his Brest Practice program to make it blind friendly.

Well, success! It is now accessible with JFW 50 or higher,
probably older
versions will work as well as the interface is fairly
simple.

I am going to write a help file for JFW users which will be
available on my:
www.blindresources.info site and also on Robert's as well,
however, I am not
sure that it will be really needed.

I think that any one that has used JFW for a month or so
should be able to
get it quick.

The program allows you to take just about any audio file and
slow it down
for practice you can loop parts of songs and pitch shift as
well.

It sounds amazing!

Check it out at:
