Welcome and roll callLori will welcome everyone to the teleconference, allow
participants to introduce themselves and provide anyone who is new to the
campaign group to share a little bit of information about themselves. 2.
Where are we now?Lauren will provide an update on some of the key events that
have taken place in the aged care policy space since our last teleconference in
2016. All participants will be encouraged to contribute to this discussion. 3.
Aims and objectives of campaignLauren will lead a discussion about the
core recommendations that will be put to government as part of our campaign.
All participants will be encouraged to share their views on what sort of things
need to happen to improve access to support for older people with disability.
4. Campaign websiteLauren will update participants on recent changes to
the website and invite feedback on other things that might need to be updated
or included in the future. 5. Responding to community needsLori will lead
a discussion about the current Facebook group, its role and purpose.
Participants will be invited to share their views on whether we should set up a
second group for the purposes of providing peer support for older people with
disability who are trying to navigate the aged care system, and just dedicate
the current group to advocacy-related activities. 6. Working groupsLori
will talk about some of her ideas in regards to working groups that could be
established to help get other people actively involved in the campaign and
advance our cause. All participants will be encouraged to contribute to this
discussion. 7. Next steps – campaign strategiesLauren will lead a
discussion about the immediate things the campaign group might need to do to
help move things forward. All participants will be encouraged contribute to
this discussion. 8. General businessLori will provide participants with
an opportunity to raise any other issues that have not already been covered
throughout the meeting.
