MTC's Summer of the Seventeenth Doll


For sixteen summers, Roo and Barney have spent their long layoff from the 
cane-cutting season down in Melbourne having a high old time with two Carlton 
barmaids. But back for their seventeenth summer, it seems time has finally 
caught up with them.

Tribes
 
Melbourne Theatre Company presents Tribes by Nina Raine. 2011 Olivier Award 
nomination for Best New Play.


The play features deaf actor, Luke Watts, using sign language.Billy is the only 
deaf member of his family. His family taught him to lip read but never taught 
him sign language; nor did they introduce him to the deaf community. To protect 
Billy from being labelled as handicapped, they tried to raise him as a hearing 
person.


CAPTIONED PERFORMANCES
The Saturday 25 February 4pm and Monday 5 March 6.30pm performances are
