The technique of having an auto link chain and dropping into it a list
of numbers is fine. A variation is to use auto numbering of paragraphs.
The snag is that you may have to adjust the length of the text file of
numbers by hand - being auto linked there will always be as many pages
as there are numbers in the list.
The mail merge technique (thanks for refreshing my memory about this) -
problem is I can't think of a way of determining the current page number
- your pagenum() function above.
