I've been having a look at your makefile and it works a treat.
Although after re-making the XL library and relinking the Freshen app 
I had a problem and realised that o.avl isn't in your list of objects. 

Comparing the sources in !XL.Task.c & .s and your list of objects in 
the makefile, I've found 4 objects missing from your list:

o.appletrun
o.avl
o.main
o.test

Just thought I'd let you know.
