Does that mean Filters is compiled for 64bit Windows?Well spotted - no filters are not 64 bit compiled.
They installed in the x86 folder on my computer. I wonder if this makes
any difference, since they're command line programs which are executed
by OP.
I think it depends. There is also a 32 & 64bit section to the registry..
HKCU\Software\.... - 64bit
HKCU\Software\Wow6432Node\.... - 32bit
So if things are looking for registry entries they might look in the
wrong place.
Why might this have happened? Old installation, back in 32 bit win days
they would have gone into the non-x86 folder.
I have had problems with a 32bit installer putting 64bit stuff in the
wrong place. Maybe it happens the other way round too.
In 32bit days there was only one folder so it couldn't get it wrong. I
think MS have tried to make it look like for 64bit, nothing has
changed. So 32bit had to go somewhere new. I guess long term the x86
folder will die.
