Yes, every now and then I notice people discussing some old version of
my
software and I ask how have you got that?* The latest version is always
at
x.y.z, and they tell me, oh I just got it from z.y.x and I end up
shuffling
things around.
I've just started tentatively putting stuff on GitHub; I've been ever
so reluctant to do that before as all my stuff is already on my own
website, and it breaks having a single source for things. Plus having
to fight my way through the Git interface and try and work out where
the documentation is outright lying.
*My usual query is "what search terms did you use to attempt to find
that, so I can optimise my site to be found by them?" The answer is
often something completely mind-boggling. "I was looking for this BBC
Master software, why couldn't I find it by searching for 'Electron'"
sort of stuff.
