Thanks again for the help..
As you can tell, I'm stil a little wet behind the ears when it comes to Linux.

I've looked for the darkice docs, but came up short. 
I also looked in darkice man and didn't see what I needed.

Here is an 'echo' on what you said I should look at:

I tried setting:
device          = hwplug:0,0 

And

device          = hw0:0 

And neither seemed to work.  Also, device = default failed as well.
