This is a quagi design where the driven element and reflector are made of wire
loops, not rod, so that's not a problem. Only the directors are made of the
rod. Most elements are about 33 - 34"; I would have to look up exact length.

of aluminum tubing (in several small diameters), it is very light and
quite strong but a bit hard to work with (and too short for all of the
elements of a 2M beam). Most is larger than 1/4".
