Another scheme of good intentions gone wrong....
A Pro-Uber lobby group in London, has organised a petition to have the
company licence renewed....It has now reached 400,000 signatures. I
blame it on a bunch of lefties, curly marxists, pseudo curly marxists,
the Scottish Communist Party and David Humeist social democrats in
alliance with black taxi cab and mini cab drivers with alternate UKIP
righties, disgruntled and impatient Brexit Remainders, Adam Smithsonian
right wing political and economic forces, and the London Party Against
Crooked Lawyers; trying to sabotage the good work which the state in the
form of Transport For London is trying to keep bad taxi practices such
as non checking of criminal records of staff, drivers and top
management...or is it the self employed..., non access to Ubers software
for tax and inspection purposes and visibility of charging and route
designing, poor corporate responsibility and management of risk,
regarding employment of drivers and sexist and racist utterances and
practices from its top management team. But there you are, they are
far cheaper and more convenient than licensed black cabs and mini-cab
drivers... and our big, fat, capitalist Londoners need more exercise by
using Boris bicycles, walking routes and cheap, but plebeian public
transport to get to and from their work in the City Financial
institutions; who cares about all the other things in a free market
economy...
They have the right to appeal...and have intimated that they will
probably do so...and will be allowed to continue to operate after the
30th September 2017, so it won't make a lot of difference all the way up
to the Supreme Court and perhaps the EU Court, if we are still
members...and which is a long way away due to a new transitional axis of
carnage in negotiations being created by Theresa May, some time in
2020. (Democracy takes a long time) They have also been banned in a
number of other cities and towns around the world, including in
Europe...but rest assured, are still making pots of money.

P.S. I look forward to the counter petition...I would set it up
myself...but can't be bothered...I am no longer a city dweller...and we
don't have Uber, or any taxi drivers around at Christmas and the New
Year, when they are most needed...:-)
