Do you have any idea what their rating is in competitive play? I've played
enough games that I'm pretty sure that mine is reasonable - I mean correct.
It's a bit of a mission finding people around the same level. In quick play,
I've played way too many matches where I carry the whole team. Similarly, I've
played games where I'm pretty sure I did little other than serve to distract
the opponent while my teammates did all the heavy lifting. Seems that Blizzard
has fun trying to get the matching right in quick play. At least in
competitive, you're playing people who are at similar levels. If there is too
high a level discrepancy between teammates in competitive, it won't let you
play together - so no chance that some platinum/diamond friend will be allowed
to carry your whole team.

Yup.
Been spamming a whole load of Overwatch lately. Game is loads of fun, but
playing with random guys is somewhat frustrating. In the beginning I thought
that having someone with a high level (100+) meant that they'd be a good
addition to the team. Now that I'm past 100, I realise that it doesn't mean
anything. As Paas said to me, it just means that they've played a lot of games,
not that they've won a lot.

Chatted to a lawyer friend of theirs. There is enough circumstantial evidence -
complaints again him, him shooting his pellet gun around the place - that
they'd probably be able to make a small claims case against him for the cost of
the vet's bill. For proper criminal charges of cruelty towards animals, they
don't have much chance of winning. Maybe the SPCA will be willing to pursue
this on their own. What I'd do (aside from maybe attacking him with a bat), is
to start the criminal proceedings knowing that they wouldn't go anywhere, just
to causes the guy some grief.

Man, so my sister lives in a complex and her neighbour shot one of her cats
yesterday with a pellet gun. The pellet went through and the vet had to remove
one of the kidneys and repair tears in the intestine. Now they're just waiting
to see if she will pull through.
Neighbour admitted to her that he shot the cat, but after she complained to the
Body Corporate and let them know she was pressing animal cruelty charges
against him, he's changed his story. Not overly surprising.

Sometimes thats all you get. A floating head and hands of the other players.
Other times the position of the rest of the players body is estimated through
inverse kinematics or something like that. These are more frequently used for
other players bodies instead of your own.
While inverse kinematics does a good job of estimating where your elbow etc
should be its not perfect so sometimes you can see that your in-game elbow is
not where your actual elbow is it breaks immersion. That is why you will
frequently only have floating hands on your screen.
The estimations being slightly off has no effect on other characters since you
dont have a real life reference to compare to so they look just fine.

The acc/deceleration doesnt have to be major to cause issues, it just needs to
be there. Its there in many games that we probably dont even notice.
Walking forward and stopping with game characters rarely has them going full
speed immediately or coming to perfect stop the second you let go of the
button. There are short bits of acceleration and deceleration.

I'm trying to think of situations where you would have something like that
happening, outside of a cockpit or something similar. Nothing comes to mind.

Some interesting info has popped up regarding the main causes of motion
sickness.
Forward backward movement seem to be "ok" in general. Its acceleration and
deceleration that fucks people over.
Rotational movement without a cockpit is an issue as well. Thats why allot of
games does or has an option for comfort mode where turning your view with an
controller snaps it sideways 10-25 degrees instead of smooth turning.
Different things makes different folks sick tho and to varying degrees so its
not hard rules to fix/help the issue.
