Lol LB's mashing was so on point last night that I'm not even upset about
it. Even if those matches took place offline that level of
extra-dimensional mashing would have beaten me anyway.

By all means, do that.

You should remember one of the reasons I wanted to have this tourney
in the first place.  KOF2k2 is one of the games most played online by 
South
Africans.  Most of these guys never attend sessions, sometimes because 
they
don't know about them.  So I want them to get involved and spread the word
to their colleagues while they're having their french polony and mango
atchaar sandwiches for lunch.  If they don't like the fact that online
tournaments can be random, GREAT!  That's an incentive for them to join us
offline at sessions.  That's also why there's a cash incentive for the
finals to happen offline.  I honestly don't see the point of intentionally
handicapping players who are able to play offline just because someone who
lives less than 20 minutes from the session thinks it's "unfair".  This
isn't Socialist Fighter V.  Yes, there are some people who aren't able to
play offline, but they can always choose not to participate.  And that
would be incredibly disingenuous because they play laggy matches every day
on fightcade without complaining.

Fightcade is the UI for the lobby.
GGPO is the network layer
Final Burn Alpha is the emulator.

So how are the brothers supposed to play against each other?

Don't miss the point LB.  After all, I'd prefer *all* matches to be
played offline but that's not possible.  This way, if you want to play 
your
matches vs Nic, SAP and Manase at the session instead then go right 
ahead.
If people don't like that, they can cry moar.
