Before Metroid, other the genre that suffered from this type of obtuse
problem solving was RPGs. Anyone ever played the Zork games? Wait
nevermind Zork, how about Maniac Mansion?
I really don't understand how designers expect you solve some of these
"puzzles". It's basically the equivalent of throwing shit and a wall and
seeing what sticks.
