I wouldn't mind seeing a different AOF crowd either.
Let's take a look at what we have.
6 Playable "Flame" users - Both Kyos, Ex Iori, K', Kula Ash. 7 if you
count Saiki in this group.
A lightning user - Beni
A Judo practitioner
3 "brawlers" - Terry, Shen. Maxima
3 Ninjas - Mai, Andy, Duolon
2 Odd power users - Athena, Elizabeth
A Weapon User - Billy
2 "slashy" fighters Mature and Claw Iori.
5 Karatekas - Both Takumas, Ryo, Robert, Yuri
A Vice - aaaahhhhhh dunno what to call her style.
A taekwondo practitioner - Kim
3 Kickboxers - King, Joe, Hwa Jai
1 Wrestler - Raiden
2 Chinese Boxers - Chin, Kensou.
3 Military - Ikari team
If we take that 3 is the max for most users then I rationalize this
Enough flame users, some will go missing. Bye-bye Ash and Saiki
Pop Beni in with Athena and Elizabeth - 3 reached
Judo user? Pure sportsmen needed! Wrestling! Boxing! Jujitsu!
Brawlers - Meh... enough.
Ninjas - Enough
Weapon users - Kubotan? Whip? Switchblade? Toreos Sword?!??!? (lol) they
have been used before.
Slashy player needed - Freeman from Garou?
Enough with the "karate" lot. If Takuma retires, we reach 3.
Vice - I have no idea where to pair her style up with. Yamazaki Perhaps.
More Taekwondo lot could be cool. Chae lim, Dong Hwan, Jae Hoon.
Enough Kickboxers
More wrestlers are perhaps an option I suppose Tizoc., but I'd like to see
Ramon, because he was a true Luchador.
A spot for a Chinese boxer... GATOOOOOO!
Military is taken care of.
So if I were to round things up nicely
I'd add A Garou team Freeman, Tizoc and Gato.
An agent team. Ramon, Vanessa and Seth.
not because they are my favorites, but because their fighting style balance
makes sense.
If I had to bring in new characters. A Jujitsu practitioner would be
interesting. A Shaolin too. It would make a nice "new Masters" team.
A true mantis kung fu character would be nice also.
