Group,
Another change in the multimark paint scheme is that the earlier paint jobs had
the "CP" and the car number in a row. Later paint jobs have the "CP" over top
of the number.

Subject: RE: [cpsig] Sylvan NSC boxcar question
I'm working on a Sylvan NSC boxcar, with the intention of making
it QGRY 75145. I can't figure out whether or not the Multi-mark is
at the same ends of the car. One thing that seems strange to me is
that in the photo I have, the Multi-mark is not at the brake end...
I thought that was CP practice. Can anyone help?
The Multi-mark was originally applied to the B end of the car and then
starting the fall of 1974 it was relocated to the diagonal ends. The
drawing I'm using for reference is stencil diagram titled "Box - General",
number K-34-C-466, Rev. E, dated August 1, 1974.
So depending on the year you are modelling and when your car was last in the
paint shop you could have cars lettered either way. Talk about a cool
conversation. :-)
