Regarding the steam generator, I knew they had them but didn't have one photo
of the short hood and steam generator equipment. It bugged me but there was
nothing I could do and not being sure when they were removed decided to go
without it and possibly add details later when pictures became available. I
put out a request to this group for short hood photos for the RS-2's but didn't
get any replies so assumed they are very rare. Thanks for the congrats on the
RMC article. I really appreciate it.

When did these units lose their steam generators and
distinctive 'stove-pipe' exhaust stacks, Don? I notice your model
lacks the genny details.
I don't think I've ever seen an ALCo RS of any model with the flap
closure the CPR used on these units. I'm not sure this was an as-built
feature but it does show up in photos with these units still in their
as-built paint scheme which is good enough for me and my Summer 1953
modeling era.
BTW, congrats, Don, on the article showcasing your fine New England
modeling efforts in the current (November 2006) issue of "Railway
Model Craftsman" magazine.
