Well Fred I should have done my homework as I was off base
thinking your date was a mere typo. Those three units left Montreal
bound for Calgary (8554) and Cranbrook (4090 and 4469) on
Sept. 19, 1992 (see "Branchline" - Nov. 1992). Of course it was a
slow train with 5468 and it's bearing problems, enroute to Revelstoke,
on the same train. Now I don't know when the F units arrived in Cranbrook
but even after 5468 wintered in White River, ON it arrived in Revelstoke
on May 2, 1993. While some of the cars on the original train were bound
for Mandak, the locomotives were not. I can only surmise your photos
were taken in October of 1992.

The correct dates are July 1994. I was in charge of these
locomotives at that time. Because all three almost where sent to
Mandak Material processors in Selkirk, Manitoba to be scrapped. I
got them pulled of the train and held in the RX-Yard in Winnipeg's
CPR main terminal. Mr. Hill the then vice-presedent in charge of the
western end of CPR. Placed them in my charge. I have all of the e-
mails to prove it.
