I join in wishing a happy thanksgiving to the Canadians on line.
Can someone just add the last two points of clarification/confirmation for
me:
1) the 8 Sec 5 DBR sleepers would have been Pullman pool cars in standard
green, correct?
2) the 3 Drawing Room, 3 compartment lounge sleepers were Pullman. The cars
were named "Golden x". Its possible that in 1946 they were painted in a
Pullman pool scheme for higher class cars - two tone grey - but otherwise in
green? I'd like to get a sense of the probability of the green versus grey.
I suppose John Madden's list of Pullman info may supply re-paint info to
verify if there is much chance the 3/3 cars were other than green. Time to
head over to the passenger cars list with this question.
Just a comment: this consist of the Mountaineer/Soo-Dominion is one of the
most interesting I could have imagined for a CPR modeller. Who knew I'd be
having to get up to speed on USA rolling stock! Great hobby!

And two toned grey - is that a NYC scheme?
1954 (it has been used as early as about 1946) as one of its standardYes but Pullman eventually adopted it on a widespread basis ca.
