Im guessing the DB was functional after these units were rebuilt.
When alot of these units arrived on the NBEC, many had the DB disconnected, but
not all.
This was most like because of electrical grounds in the DB grids.
Everything to control the DB was still in place.
I remember one engineer saying he tried the DB (1857 I think) and it still
worked.
The 7 NBEC RS18u's that received the dash 3 upgrades (QES III) had fully
functional DB and self load features.
I think the RS18 is one of the best road switchers ever built, I miss these
units.

Subject: [cpsig] RS18u questions
Hello group,
Has there been a article published on the RS18u program in Diesel Era or any
other magazine? Were the dynamic brakes functional on these units? What was the
fuel capacity?
Thanks
Stephen
