“Not very good” - I’d say. A 2”x2”x10” block of wood pulls easier and stays on
the tracks better than a VH passenger car. Ball bearing wheels are an
essential upgrade.
The VH lightweight car wheel trucks are problematic. Make sure you bend the
side frames so they are level and parallel to each other otherwise you will
have problems with derailments.
Derailing it isn’t as much of a problem with the heavyweight cars. Just make
sure you measure the wheel diameter before buying wheels. Some of the models
came with 33” wheels instead of prototypical 36”. I got surprised by that
once.
