At the moment, I'm mostly interested in model-related aspects of the
CPR, though the prototype stuff is important too. What I'm not
interested in is discussions of modern-day CPR topics, and it was my
understanding that C-P-R, like C-N-R, skewed mostly to discussion of
contemporary railroading.
On the topic of modelling the CPR, what about those P1K RDCs? It
seems like the CPR maroon and yellow striped end version barely even
made it to store shelves in Ontario. Many went out in pre-orders,
while the remainder sold out in less than a week. Meanwhile, the
hockey mask versions, as well as all the other paint schemes, remain
generally available. I was pretty shocked with the popularity of that
one version above all others.
I also note that the P1K model represents a Phase-I RDC. Is this
correct for the numbers represented (9100 and 9101)? All photos I
have seen of CPR RDCs were of the Phase-II version. Did 9100 and 9101
have the door-mounted headlight?
I know there have been several books published which cover RDCs in
Canada, but most of these are now hard to find, correct? Didn't CP
Tracks do an article on RDCs as well?
