CP TRACKS Volume 4 number 3 through Volume 5 number 2 (5 issues) had an
excellent series on CPR RDC's.
Volume 4 number 3 was about RDC-2's and has photos of both Phase 1 and Phase 2
RDC-2's.
9100 and 9101 were both Phase 1's. Going through various photos shows that CPR
RDC's were delivered as both Phase 1 and Phase 2 in all
variations.(RDC-1,-2,-3) (I have only seen a photo of a Phase 2 RDC-4 # 9251)
As far as I know all CPR RDC's had the door mounted headlight. It was mounted
on a bracket and moved from one end to the other for the direction of travel.
To model an accurate P1K CPR RDC you only have to add the door headlight, change
the horns on the roof, and add a numberboard above the double headlight.
I added some photos of RDC's to the "files" section.

I also note that the P1K model represents a Phase-I RDC. Is this
correct for the numbers represented (9100 and 9101)? All photos I
have seen of CPR RDCs were of the Phase-II version. Did 9100 and 9101
have the door-mounted headlight?
I know there have been several books published which cover RDCs in
Canada, but most of these are now hard to find, correct? Didn't CP
Tracks do an article on RDCs as well?
