Gents;
Not to nick pick however cabooses continued to run unmanned for a while
after FRED's were the norm. The last day for manned cabooses in the
Montreal area at least was the same day that the last Canadian left
Montreal.

Peter,
The official CP Motive Power Modification for ditch lights on CP locomotives
started in 1977.
Cabooses last ran on regular freight trains in 1990.

Hi guys,
I'm travelling and do not have access to my reference books.
May I ask a reminder for two things?
1) when did ditch lights become mandatory on leaders on CP in Canada?
2) when did cabeeses disappear as a standard tail end on main line trains on
CP ?
Cheers, Peter
