ProModel Builders, NorWest Kits and Castings and The BGR Group are
announcing that ProModel Builders will cease production of the four
passenger car kits originally developed and marketed by NorWest Kits
and Castings. The original kits were based on the very extensive
field work and designs of Brian Pate and Andy Barber and represented,
at the time, a new benchmark in the level of detail offered in model
railway car kits. The four kits offered by ProModel Builders and
NorWest Kits were the CPR semi lightweight 2200-series coach, the 10
Rmt - 5 DBR "Grove" series sleeper, the 3600-series mail cars and the
4700-series baggage car.
The BGR Group has arranged with Messrs. Pate and Barber and with
Brian Rudko of ProModel Builders to make full use their research and
production materials together with some new information which has
come to light. to redevelop and manufacture the car kits. While
retaining the fine detail of the original kits, the new car kits will
feature a one piece body and full interior detail. The kits will
contain all the materials except couplers and diaphragms required to
construct a complete model. The new models are expected to become
available beginning early in 2010.
