The CPR has been running unit trains of coal and sulfur just to name a few
for a long time. The coal unit trains started in the 19660's if not the
late '50's.
And grain trains too, since first hauling grain.
Vancouver grain trains from Calgary;
Thunder Bay / Saint John grain trains from Wpg.
