Walther's new Sperry car model comes in three paint schemes.
1. Yellow "Sperry Rail Service" on letterboard
2. Yellow with "SRS" on black stripe w/ "Sperry Rail Service"
below black band and
3. Yellow with black stripe(?) "SRS Automated Services"
The model appears (as per Jan 2001 MR ad) to be the 60's era version which
used the 1st paint scheme. Sometime around the time the second paint
scheme was introduced, (as per the Walther's catalogue photos) the cars
were rebuilt with several windows closed in. [I believe even earlier.
windows had been closed in to the design used in the model. An earlier
Brass model, if I remember correctly, probably modelled the cars as first
rebuilt with most windows from the original "doodlebugs" still in place.]
Question: Was the second paint scheme applied when the cars were rebuilt
or did the first paint scheme remain for a while after the rebuild?
Alternately did the second paint scheme appear on the cars prior to the
rebuilding?
