Pray tell, when is history recorded correctly and what qualifications does one
need to tell it? That kind of sweeping generalization should be qualified
itself or you are simply perpetuating what you accuse others of doing.

Certainly, news reports (especially mass media) of subjects with a technical
component (like the recent VIA wreck) are usually very badly butchered,
mangled, incorrect and over simplified. I once was told by a friend who is a
serious student of history that history is NEVER recorded without a spin. I
would add that, history is almost never recorded by anyone qualified to tell
it correctly.
