Hi all
On timetable of 1951 #36 Lyndonville Sub. (White-River Jct - Newport,VT)
specify an Overlap block system. Does anyone have some detail on that ?
However I know ABS.

Yes just noticed that too I have TT #34 from 1950 and it shows same
thing and my TTs from the 60s shows only ABS.
It's the same thing but a special instructions gives some details on
Overlap blocks go see special instruction 3 it should be at the end on page 28.
It says that you have to stop short of a signal;even tough they
were almost all permissive;and if not cleared you had to send a flagman ahead.
In ABS ,signals were all permissive;Stop and Proceed;unless they had the letter
A.On the Lyndonvilles sub I guess because of the difficult
territory;grades;they wanted to make sure trains would not run into
each others.
