THe following train consists are from 1946. But the 1950's
passenger consist till about 1956 looked alot like these two. I've
posted them before, you may not have seen them.
The following is a passenger consist of train 117 that ran between
Winnipeg MB. and Winnipeg Beach Mb. over the summer months. Train 117
was nick named "The Daddy Train", and would leave Winnipeg at around
18:00k and arrive is Winnipeg Beach at 19:15k. The train made a
number of stops on the way up to Winnipeg Beach. She was called the
Daddy train because of the fathers returning to the Lake Winnipeg
Beach's after a long day at work in the city, enjoy.
Train 117 North Departed Winnipeg Depot at 18:00k July 11,1946.

The following is a passenger consist of train 118 that ran
between Winnipeg MB. and Winnipeg Beach Mb. over the summer months.
Train 118 was nick named "The Moonlight Special", and would leave
Winnipeg Beach at 23:45k and arrive is Winnipeg at 00:55k. The train
only made two stops on the way back to Winnipeg. First stop was at
Whytewold at 23:50, and at Selkirk at 00:19k.
Train 118 South Departed Winnipeg Beach Depot at 23:45k July 12,1946.

There are 1002 seats on this train, when this train left Winnipeg
Beach she had 1098 passengers on board, plus 5 crew. That means that
96 passengers where standing on the way back to Winnipeg.

You mention not having seen any pax trains with diesels on them; did
diesel-hauled freights operate there during the time steam-hauled
running? Just curious, as to whether I could with reasonablelikelihood
have both steam and diesel present on an eventual layout.the

I'll put the drawings together over the next couple weeks.
Passenger service died in 1960, on all branch lines. I don't have
beexact date but we're in the ball park. I don't believe that any
deisels pulled passenger trains on this subdivision ever. I could
townwrong but I don't think so. I have a couple of other sources in
theand I'll ask. And then I'll get back to you on this, ok. All of
betweenphoto's I've ever seen of trains on the Winnipeg Beach Sub.
1950 to 1960 had steam on the headend.
