Hello Frank,

      I have track daigarms of Gimli, Mb. Station 5255. What year are
you most interested in? I worked as a Road Runner for Canadian
Pacific some years ago. I worked the Arborg, Winnipeg Beach, Lac Du
Bonnet, Keewatin, Carberry, Emerson, La Riviere, Gretna, Snowflake,
Glenboro, Carman subs, and Potage La Prairie Mb. Some of these
drawings could be quit interesting.

There are a couple of possibilities on your green CP engine.  CP is
currently using several green goats still painted in RailPower green,
and it could have been one of those.  More likely it was GP38AC
3005.  This unit (along with sister 3004) was painted green for
service on Vancouver Island's E&N before CP leased it out to Rail
America.  Once the E&N was gone, CP left the 3005 in green paint but
simply blanked over the E&N markings with a lighter green colour and
added their modern "Canadian Pacific" wordmark, resulting in a
curious looking but somewhat ugly engine.  The 3004 remained in full
E&N paint until early last year, when it was repainted into full CP
red including the beaver.  Both units are currently assigned to
Coquitlam.

I'm afraid I don't know the first thing about Gimli though.  :)
