I would also like this to consider the two wonderful charity to have operating
in area
The first one one being the Aberdeen central cats Protection branch charity
shop in King Street and also look after a number of wild pussy cats within our
areaAnd also do a lot more than the area as a volunteer of that charity we
solely rely on donations to help us to all the amazing work we do
The second one I think you should give to is Stella voices which also operates
a charity shop I'm sure Julianne volunteers in charity shop could shed a bit
more light and what they do but I know they work with refugees and others I
don't know the shop manager is now but as I know it used to be my good friend
Katie but I know Katie has left but I'm sure Julian all of the details
Suggestion it's just come to my head that we split the money fairly between all
members of the Community Council who can give to one of their chosen charities
that works and updates in our community council area so that would give Pauline
money for Development Trust myself money for the cats Protection Julianne money
for Stella voices Jonathan to get to the miscarriage people

mail.
As chair of Charity "Fittie Community Development Trust" (SC046775), it would
be remiss of me to pass on the opportunity to suggest that this charity would
be a worthy recipient of funding. As you may know, we are in the process of
fundraising so that we can refurbish our Community Hall. We receive no money
from Aberdeen City Council and are self supporting.
We are a small, but dedicated and very hard working group of unpaid volunteers
and our work is making a real difference to the community of Fittie and the
wider City.
It may be of interest to some to learn that we, as a charity, support charities
Cfine, Westhill Men's shed and Somebody Cares as we buy from them and use their
services rather than source from private profit-making businesses. We believe
in supporting our peer groups.
Anyway, if we could be added to your list of considerations. Thanks,Pauline

Subject: [cpcc-committee] Castlehill & Pittodrie Community Council - Donations
for 2019 Good evening everyone,
Each year, the Community Council gratefully receives an Annual Grant from
Aberdeen City Council, to the amount of around £1100-1400 based on the amount
of people who reside within the boundary area.
Each year, the Community Council also usually allocates 3 - 4 Donations to
Charities, Community Groups and Initiatives that are either active within the
area, or provide a service accessible to and benefiting members of the
community in the constituency.
The Community Council currently has:
- £340 allocated toward the Community Garden Project
- £500 held on behalf of the Community Garden, awarded by ACC
Any amount of funding remaining which are either unspent or unallocated at the
end of the calendar year are deducted from the next year's grant.
Annual Donations
I would therefore like to ask all members of the Community Council to consider
local charities, community groups, projects and initiatives to which we can
consider making a donation this year.
Suggestions
At previous meetings, there has been recommended the newly established
charity, MISS (Misscarriage Information and Support Service) which draws in
members and offers support to people throughout Aberdeen and N-E, and are
considering hosting a Drop-In / Awareness Raising in Castlehill and Pittodrie
area.
There was also recent news that they were subjected to cyber-crime and lost
almost £900 to hackers and criminals, and so could be timely for us to consider
a small donation in time for the festive season to make a small donation if
possible.
There has also been discussion of CFINE, which although again based in City
Centre / Torry, provides services to many residents in the area of Catlehill &
Pittodrie who attend the Food Bank, Fareshare to community outlets, etc
Further suggestions include:
- Salvation Army (SA also received a donation late last / early this year)
- Hanover Street Community Centre and / or Community Groups who operate there
Please do get in touch as soon as possible to share your suggestions with us,
as we will have to ensure that any potential recipients are eligible to receive
donations with the 'Community Council' and 'Public Spend' Guidelines.
Thank you all, and looking forward to hearing your suggestions in time for
November's meeting.
Sincerely,
Jonathan
