Hi Alexander,
If you go through he Development Application there are 2 different numbers of
children .So it could be 89 or more
Either way there will be at least 25 car spaces not available for residents!
And the fact there is only one road in and out it is unacceptable for the
increased traffic. What did you make of the design? Is it encroaching on Common
Property? And it appears to block off access to the Sports Facility. There is a
statement saying there will be a wooden gate with Access controlled by Child
Care staff. Also Minh made a comment about them wanting to build a brick wall
across the back And there is still the noise issue from children in the outside
area to residents living above and properties adjoining the development. I
would not like to be living there. These residents had to contend with the
Garbage being left there 24/7 for 2 years. And now this!
I certainly will be lodging an Objection on all these grounds.
Anne.

Hi all,
Just a quick clarification, there will be 14 car spaces for staff and 11 for
drop-off (3 out front and 8 in the carpark area under the building).
Additionally they are proposing to have up to 89 kids (0-2: 24 – 3-5: 65).
I got these figures from the documents on councils web site
(https://www.strathfield.nsw.gov.au/development/development-notifications-2/17081-86-courallie-avenue-homebush-west/)
DA2017-030-STATEMENT-ENVIRONEMENTAL-EFFECT.pdf page 22.
In any event the effect of say an additional 60-70 cars driving all the way
around the roadway will be unacceptable and I feel this is the way we should be
framing our objections.

Hi Betty,
Yes it is a worry. Have you seen where there are 14 car spaces allocated for
staff , 1 car space per 8 children and 2 additional car spaces in the car park
below the building. That means they are taking 30 car spaces.
. They have more spaces than the residents per head. And the traffic will be
appalling as most of the users will likely come from outside. And the noise
level for the residents living above and beside the centre will be high.I
suggest that residents write and object to Council re this development!

Hi
Yes, I just received it on Friday and it is a big worry. Without the provision
of extra roads, I’m worried about how Centenary Park is going to handle the
extra traffic, not only from the high rise but now also from the child care
centre that is expecting to accommodate 113 children. It will be exactly like
the school drop-off and pick-up scenarios, where you get traffic jams during
those drop-off and pick-up times. Although they have marked 3 spots outside the
centre for drop-offs, they are expecting to take in 113 kids! So you can
imagine the number of cars that will be coming in, parking on the road to take
the kids inside, chatting with the staff and other parents, and driving off.
There will be a lot of double and triple parking!! I don’t know how the
current residents are going to get in and out of the complex.
Incidentally, I don’t recall receiving any DA notifications regarding the
development of a child care centre in Building B4.

Hi all,
Have you received the Child Care Development Application from Strathfield
Council?
Because it looks like they are building on Common Property Front and Back. I
will be contacting council for clarification.
