Hey Neighbors,

I want to send a quick note addressing the dog post. The dog in question is
mine. He spends less than 50% of his time at my house as I share custody
with my partner who lives in Buda. I will begin this email by saying I
spoke to the woman who was bitten immediately after it happened, and I have
spoken to the neighbor's wife after they were able to make it home and
check on her body.

I am not here to deny that he bit the neighbor when he got out of our
fence, but I am here to let you know he is not a vicious dog. He is a
rescue dog we've had for less than a year, and we are saddened he hurt
someone. He has come so far through training, and we are working with a
trainer to do more intensive training to prevent this from happening again.
I also assure you he is no threat to our children. In addition to training
our dogs, we have also worked with our children on how to interact safely
with dogs. He is a real sweetheart once he gets to know someone.

Since getting him, we have done a lot of alterations to our yard, but this
weekend we installed plywood over our chain link fence to keep him safely
inside. I had already been working with a contractor to get a fence built,
and as you can imagine it is a wait (despite efforts to find someone
different to do it sooner).

free to. I am not sharing this to be attacked or shamed. I am sharing in
hopes of having open conversations with neighbors or being a resource if
someone else has a reactive dog and feels alone or isolated.
