Sheila,
I would love to hear more about various demos such as dinner table. They would
come in so handy for me with my clients.

Subject: RE: [ConstellationTalk] Marketing
Regarding the conversation about marketing: For me, it is Family
Constellation work or Systemic Constellation work. Other names like
"Lovestream" etc., for me are too new-agey as well as reflecting more of a
business name of a particular person's business. I use "client" defined as a
person who comes with a need, or a question, to someone they believe has some
expertise in their area of need. It works for me. "Facilitator" also works in
reference to me and what I do in the group. "Constellator" and the verb
"constellate" are being picked up right now. Have attended 3 days with Stephan
Hausner and he told clients, "now, constellate it" or "constellate them". I
prefer "set them up". The terms related to the word constellation truly do
reflect new terms for some (relatively) new work. They also reflect our love
for creating new words for new pieces of the culture (can't think of any other
examples at the moment, too early in the morning..., but you know what I mean).
I have also been aware recently that expressions such as " expose yourself
to..." and "set them up" can evoke other ideas from people new to the work. In
another meaning of those phases, someone often is negatively affected when "set
up" and those with poor boundaries "expose" themselves; while those willing to
be vulnerable expose themselves as well. So, as with many "technical" terms,
they fare better when actually being defined, for instance, in the
introductory part of the start of a workshop. Becasue these issues can detract
from the work, I prefer to do an introductory evening, in which I relate my
background, Bert's background, the phenomenon of the morphic field, the process
of setting up a constellations and the job of the representatives. Then I ask
who has never had the experience of being a rep, and creat a demo so that they
can have this hands-on experience prior to being a rep in someone's actual
constellation. I do this with a "dinner table" or various other demos ("three
soldiers and 3 victims" for instance), and I'm happy to say more about these
demos if anyone is interested. After they have had an experience, their
questions about how it all works seem to fall away and we are ready to start
the work. That's the intro evening. In the morning, I see if there are
questions from the night before, reassure those who missed the intro evening,
that they will be supported as needed and then just start the work.
Sorry, got off on a bit of a tangent there. As for names, the work is Family
Constellations, Systemic Constellations or Organizational Constellations for
me. The name of my business is Systemic Family Solutions. I don't see any
additional value in everyone calling it the same thing. yes, there is "gestalt"
for instance, and "bioenergetics" and in comparison, this work is "family" or
"systemic" constellations. I would ask those who say they are not interested,
why not, not in a defensive way, but in inquiry. It is interesting that those
who are not interested usually have some sort of negative feeling about the
work and I am always interested in the etiology of that response.
Always an interesting conversation here. Thanks, to you, Chris. All the
best, sheila
